Tavares ~ I’m Back For More ~ Capitol ~ 1979

From their seventh album, Madam Butterfly, a fairly funky track from Ralph, Pooch, Chubby, Butch and Tiny – the Tavares Brothers.

Barry White ~ It’s Ecstacy When You Lay Down Next To Me ~ 20th Century Records ~ 1977

From the 1977 “Barry White Sings For Someone You Love” album. Written by Ekundayo Paris and Nelson Pigford.it spent five weeks at the top of the R&B chart in the Autumn of 1977 four on the Billboard Hot 100. The track was later sampled by Mary J Blige on her 1994 single “You Bring Me Joy”. Another song which uses the same beat of “It’s Ecstasy” is Le Pamplemousse’s “Le Spank” from 1977. The track was also heavily sampled on Robbie Williams number 1 hit “Rock DJ”.

Michael Patto ~ Love Enough For Two ~ 1991

A track I played on the Show back in April 2010 after I’d been digging through the old vinyl crates – I used to play this a lot when I was working in the office, this is Michael Patto from 1991 (I’ve Got) Love Enough For Two.

Loose Ends ~ Love’s Got Me ~ Ten Records UK / MCA US ~ 1990
Come1990 Loose Ends lineup changed due to musical differences and Eugene and Nichol left. Carl McIntosh brought in Linda Carriere and Sunay Suleyman and they release the album “Look How Long”. This turned out to be the final studio album released under the Loose Ends name, and featured their final hit single, “Don’t Be A Fool” and this one “Love’s Got Me” that made 40 over here and 76 on the US R&B chart
